Pastor Bob Rueter was born in Lincoln, Nebraska June 18, 1940. His parents were farmers, business people who owned and operated a small electrical contracting company. A graduate of Elmwood Public Schools, Elmwood, Nebraska in 1957. He attended the University of Nebraska and graduated with a BFA in 1965. He worked his way through college as an Ironworker, foreman and supervisor. he also served four churches as student minister during this same time.
Pastor Bob worked six years as a factory representative for U.S. Gypsum and W.R. Grace covering a five state territory upon graduation from college. Returned to construction at the invitation of a friend as a Project Manager. During the next twenty years built primarily government multi-family housing over the western half of the United States, approximately eighteen thousand units. At differing times during this period worked as a Superintendent, Project Manager, General Superintendent, Operations Officer and CEO of various building corporations.
In 1993 Pastor Bob entered seminary to follow a life long dream. Pastor Bob received the Masters of Divinity degree from Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University in 1996. Pastor Bob was ordained at Wahiawa, Hawaii July, 1996. During seminary and after, Pastor Bob served two congregations in Texas. Then in 1998 started doing interim ministry. Pastor Bob has earned the title of Professional Transition Specialist which involves approximately 90 hours every two years and peer review to receive the certification, major fields are in grief counseling, conflict management, and teamwork implementation and motivation. He is required to take approximately 32 hours per year of continuing education.
He has served seven different congregations in transition and one interim as Regional Minister in the Soutwest Region.
Pastor Bob is married to Beverly Kay Mankin Rueter BSN, RN, CPN since 1961. They have two children, Lisa, an elementary teacher and Michael, a professional photographer. Lisa is the wife of Tom Mahan and mother of two daughters Brittny and Bethany. During the time Pastor Bob and Beverly have been married they have made 39 moves, living from Kauai to Luray and Pocatello to San Diego.
